Kaweco was founded in 1883 as a penholder factory in Heidelberg, Germany. During the Second World War, production was almost stopped and a few months after the end of the war, permission to continue the operation was granted. In 1971, Kaweco received a license for a series of sports writing instruments for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. The core of the brand was then as it is today: classic design and high-quality workmanship. Today, Kaweco writing instruments are available in over 40 countries. The New York Times mentioned the Kaweco products and praised them for their precision, modesty, clarity and minimal design.
